Meet the 5 Technology Companies in Our 2020 Cybersecurity Accelerator
As adversaries have shown that they are using this vulnerable time to launch cyber attacks on the U.S. government, the need to bring the best emerging tech solutions into the federal market is critical.
“There’s never a shortage of cybersecurity needs in the government, and we’re setting up for success the tech that can meet those needs,” said Nate Ashton, our tech managing director. “Standard tech scouting and due diligence are not enough when it comes to the public sector. With our focus on federal, we evaluate solutions that can meet national security requirements and support government missions successfully in the long term.”
Reaching a record high for the last decade, privacy and cybersecurity companies raised nearly $10 billion in 2019, and we’ve identified the cybersecurity companies that have extremely relevant use cases for the U.S. government. The companies work in areas ranging from threat detection to privacy to identity and access management, and collectively, they have raised over $300 million in venture capital funding. From hundreds of applicants, the cybersecurity companies accepted into Dcode Accelerate include:
HYAS enables enterprises to detect and mitigate cyber risks before attacks happen and identify the adversaries behind them. With HYAS’ exclusive data sources and non-traditional collection mechanisms, HYAS Protect and HYAS Insight keep enterprises safe, find attackers and fraudsters, and identify full attribution. HYAS allows enterprises to focus on the bad actors that are attacking them, not just their attacks, and change their entire security posture from a reactive to a proactive position.
Privitar is a data privacy management platform that enables data-driven enterprises to de-identify data, minimize risk, and achieve regulatory compliance while freeing them to use advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning to extract the maximum value from the sensitive personal data they collect, manage, and use.
Remediant is a cybersecurity startup focused on the next-generation Privileged Access Management (PAM) solution. Remediant’s product SecureONE takes a completely new approach, continuously monitoring for changes and dynamically allocating privileged access without installing software agents. Nothing else makes PAM this easy, scalable, or secure.
SecurityScorecard’s patented rating technology is used by more than 1,000 organizations for enterprise and third-party risk management, board reporting, and cyber insurance underwriting. SecurityScorecard continues to make the world a safer place by transforming the way companies understand, improve, and communicate cybersecurity risk to their boards, employees, and vendors.
Sepio is a leader in the Rogue Device Mitigation (RDM) market, and the developer of Sepio Prime, a SaaS or on-premise solution for protecting organizations from hardware-based attacks and threats. Sepio Prime provides security teams with full visibility into their hardware assets and their behavior in real-time. Leveraging a combination of physical fingerprinting technology together with device behavior analytics, Sepio’s software-only solution offers instant detection and response to any threat or breach attempt coming from a manipulated or infected element.
These companies will convene virtually between May and July for networking sessions and curriculum deep dives, in addition to one-on-one virtual meetings for government and industry stakeholders to introduce the cybersecurity companies to relevant agency programs and prime contractors.
Our team and community of mentors will also provide hands-on support, tools, and materials, guiding the cohort to scale quickly and successfully in the government. Once these cybersecurity companies have completed Dcode Accelerate, they will have access to ongoing support and the invaluable Dcode community as they continue to work on bringing emerging tech solutions to the government. We can’t wait to see how these companies can positively impact missions and help strengthen the federal government.
